Teacher tips

If you have any tips about using the ARB website or resources and would like to share them, please feel free to email David Johnson.

Tips for searching

  • When searching on a single keyword, double-click on the keyword in the available keyword list, and it will automatically begin searching.

  • Use a free-text search to find topics or contexts (especially in English).

  • You don't need to to use all the classifications on the search page.  Try strand, level, and keyword.

Tips for using ARB resources

  • Save paper by using OHT, or a data projector to show introductory pages of some ARB resources, or laminate resources to use again.

  • You can set up self-assessed teaching stations with the resources and the answers.

Tips for accessing the ARB resources

  • If you find that opening Word documents within Internet Explorer is slow especially when going back to the webpage that provided the link to the Word document, then try the following:

  •
    1. Hold down the 'Shift' key when you click on the 'MS Word' link in a resource. This opens the MS Word document in a new browser which means that you can simply close that browser when finished.
    2. Close down MS Word (the program) if it is open.
