Printing resources

If you want to print a resource from your browser or MS Word.  

  • click on the Print button on the top tool bar
    or 
    select File, Print.

  • click OK to print all the pages 
    or
    click on Pages in the Page Range of the print window, type in the page/s or page range and click OK.

Please Note:

  • Printing from MS Word will print both the resource and the Teacher Information.  

  • Printing from the browser will not print the Teacher Information. This will have to be done separately 
    (click on the Teacher Information button and print).


Saving paper when printing a resource

Reducing the size of the document

  • Select File, Print.

  • In the print window click on Properties or Preferences, and then Effects.

  • Use the percentage scroll bar to reduce the size of the document and click OK.

  • If you are printing from Firefox (Mozilla), you may need to reduce the scale of the pages to 90% in Print Preview mode, to stop each page using more than one piece of paper.

Reducing the content of the resource

  • Open the resource in MS Word or copy the resource to MS Word.

  • Delete non-required information.

  • Print the reduced resource (File, Print, OK).

Print only the pages you want

  • Print by page number or range or print the current page.

  • Use Print Preview to work out which pages to print. This is not necessary if you are printing from MS Word.

  • Click on the Print button or click Print from the File menu.

  • Select Current Page in the Page Range in the print window
    or
    Choose Pages and type in the page number/s or range, e.g., 1,4,6 or 3-5 etc.

  • Click OK.

  • Highlight the text to print.

  • Click the right-hand mouse button on the highlighted content.

  • Select Print.

  • Click on Selection in the Page Range in the print window. 

  • Click OK.

Printing later

If you want to print or use a resource at a later time, use the bookmark/favourites function (Ctrl + D for Netscape, Explorer, and Firefox).

Printing in black and white on a colour printer

  • Select File, Print, or click the Print button on the top tool bar.

  • Click on Properties in the print window.

  • Select the Paper/Quality tab and select the black and white option.

  • Click on OK to print in black and white.

Printing multiple resources

The ARB website offers a useful grouping facility called My Folder which allows to display and print multiple resources at the same time. Both these facilities can be accessed from any search results page. Visit the My Folder page for more information.
