    Asking questions

Readers ask and attempt to answer questions for, and of, themselves.

    Student:
"If I'm not asking questions, I'm not thinking."

    Teacher:
"I'm having a negative reaction towards the character of Sam, so I need to question why. I'll look at the words the author has used in relation to Sam, but I'm also going to think about whether it might be that I'm just not interested in the things he likes."
